The Coral Sea Outrigger Canoe Club Incorporated was formed by a group of enthusiastic paddlers in 1995 at Magnetic Island. Early in 1998, the Club was relocated to the prime location on the redeveloped Townsville Strand. Our canoes are located on the beach near the iconic Rockpool and Jezzine Barracks.

We are a diverse group of paddlers, from Juniors to Golden Masters, and from all corners of the globe – including Australia, New Zealand, Cook Islands, Samoa, Tonga, Fiji, Hawaii, France, Asia, Europe and continental Africa.

We paddle socially in Townsville, compete regularly in the AOCRA NQ Zone Regatta series (Port Douglas to Gladstone), and have sent teams to national and overseas Racing Events, including the Hamilton Island Cup, Savaii Crossing, Takapuna, Norfolk Ocean Challenge and Vaka Eiva in the Cook Islands.

Whether you want to make friends and be more social than competitive, or whether you are fiercely competitive, Coral Sea prides itself on being inclusive and accommodating.  You will have a place to paddle with us!!
